There
is no watching a movie or picking up a good book to get your mind off it.
In fact, chronic pain is more likely to interfere with your enjoyment of
anything you want to do, and that's why musculoskeletal disorders have such
significant impact on your general health. At some point, chronic pain
may cause immobility, which encourages a host of diseases that worsen with
lack of
activity and exercise.
The vast majority of people suffering with
chronic pain suffer from some kind of musculoskeletal disorder, most frequently
muscle pain (trigger points). Taking care of muscle pain is less complicated
when done early, before it propagates. Left undiagnosed and untreated, these problems may become
structural, causing real damage to your bones and joints (arthritis). At this
point you have magnified the problems to serious, costly, and potentially
life threatening proportions.
Whether you have chronic low back pain or a
knee that constantly aches, chances are that your posture may have an impact.
Dr. Janet Travell (White House physician to Presidents Kennedy and Johnson)
described poor posture as a significant perpetuating factor in musculoskeletal
disease. She also described how Morton's Foot Structure negatively impacts
posture.
Listen
to your body, and listen to your kids. Pain is
always real!
If your kids complain about knee or back pain after sports
or play, investigate.
They may have Rothbart's Foot Structure and be predisposed to
musculoskeletal disorders. Posture Control InsolesT are good
prevention.
