QUEST
FOR CLASSIC WINNER
by Ken McLean
Published by Russell Meerdink,
Neenah, WI, USA)
The celebrated Australian bloodline authority Ken McLean first
wrote this linebreeding epic in 1987. This, the third reprint,
has been published in Wisconsin, USA, in soft cover form.
McLean was a pioneer in acknowledging the impact made by the females
in upgrading the thoroughbred racehorse, a situation now gaining
fast acceptance in international forums.Certain mares, who continually
improve performance in the classics and prestige events, have been
labelled elite mares by the author. The traditional
emphasis on males in the species is unjust, McLean feels. Here he
honours the famous matrons.
This title, out of print for several years, should receive a welcome
return from judicious breeders, both professional and hobbyist.
